Tasty Breakfast Casseroles:
While on vacation, having too much fun, only to discover that there’s nothing set for the menu, and the fridge is mostly empty, and I’m thinking that I’m in the charge of feeding my friend’s kids on that particular day.
Unlock the door to the refrigerator, discover half dozen eggs and half a carton of milk, a little cheddar cheese, sausage leftovers made from gravy and biscuits the night before, some broccoli, an corn ear (cooked).
Unlock the freezer and you will you will see a half loaf of bread that has been cut into pieces. Saved!
I done many more recipes like “Spinach Frittata”
What’s the base of this tasty breakfast casseroles?
Have you ever cooked an egg-based breakfast casserole?
The main ingredients are eggs, cheese milk as well as bread. It’s the easiest recipe to make. There’s an excellent sausage and bacon breakfast dish on our site which is one of my personal favorites.
“Open Fridge Breakfast Bake”
The best thing about breakfast casseroles is that you can include any ingredient you’d like in the dish. Italian sausages are my absolute preferred but bacon or ham are acceptable also. You can also make it vegetarian by adding broccoli, zucchini, basil and onions.
When I first served it dish to children, they demanded that it should be posted to the website. The name they chose for the recipe was “Open Fridge Breakfast Bake” since that’s exactly my recipe: I opened the refrigerator and placed everything that I was able to into a casserole dish and then baked it.
How to Make a Tasty Breakfast Casseroles:
For a breakfast casserole, you beat eggs with milk, then add cheese and milk and cubed bread. mix in “mix-ins” like mushrooms, sausage, vegetables and other herbs, place the dish in casserole dishes and bake.
Easy, right? The ingredients all go together in a single casserole pan, however there are some steps I’d recommend starting with:
- If you’re with many mushrooms, saute them a few minutes prior to cooking them to help release the moisture.
- You can also add cooked, tough vegetables such as broccoli to the casserole or even put them in raw. If you’re together raw vegetables chop into smaller pieces and be aware that they’ll be crisper if you cook them in raw, not cooked.
- If you’re adding bacon or sausage prepare it first prior to adding them into the casserole.
The proportions of ingredients can be customizable. If you use more eggs, it can result in a casserole which is more solid which is less probable to collapse.
Bread that is old or stale works accurate for breakfast casseroles however, if you don’t have it, simply set slices of bread fresh on the counter for drying for a couple of hours or bake the bread slices in an oven with a low temperature (200degF for 10 min) or toaster for just a one minute (just sufficient to dry them just a bit).
What to Serve With a Tasty Breakfast Casseroles:
Breakfast casserole is a complete meal! It contains starch (bread) as well as cheese, milk as well as meat and vegetables. It is a great option for breakfast or lunch, as well as dinner.
Serve it with some slices of fresh fruit to start your day or, if you are making it for dinner, a fresh green salad. If you decide to leave out the vegetables included in your casserole think about serving sauteed vegetables as a side dish. If you decide to leave out the meat, consider serving some crisp bacon and cooked sausages.
Make Ahead Instructions:
Breakfast casseroles are designed to be prepared ahead of time. It is possible to put together the whole dish in the evening, then put it in the refrigerator (covered) and bake it in the morning. It’s a little work to awake and can be it’s a stress-free breakfast for a crowd of guests to feed.
How to Store and Reheat a Breakfast Casserole:
This breakfast dish will last for several days in the refrigerator and covered. It is possible to microwave it to a boil, a serving at one time, or heat the entire dish in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until it’s cooked.

Easy Tasty Breakfast Casseroles:
The proportions of the ingredients are estimations. The more eggs you have, the more firm and less likely the casserole.
Mushrooms can retain enough moisture, therefore if you are using enough them, it is recommended to sauté them before releasing some the water.
